Breaking Taboos - A new photo exhibition in Galeria LX
In the metaverse Second Life® culture and arts are always on the limelight.
At Galeria LX in the Portucalis Island we try to bring to the public different sides of art, mainly in what concerns photography and painting. To tell you a bit of the Gallery's history we started with an exhibition of Real Life photography by two known Portuguese photographers and have since then (1 year ago) brought to the public both Real life artists and their paintings and Second Life artists with pictures taken inworld, some postprocessed in Photoshop, others just taken using the tools Second Life gives us.
This exhibition which will open to the public on May 13th is called Breaking Taboos.
Leave you here the words of the artists, Imso Obscure and Elora Lungu and invite you to drop by and see that art is art in no matter what world.
Judging others is something we do automatically, something inherent to the human species. And yet, were we all alike, then the World would not be fun at all. None of the Worlds. Therefore we need to set aside the impulse of judgement, forget prejudice, and reinvent concepts. More than to respect the differences, there is the need to celebrate them. Here, more than anywhere else, there is no room for taboos; the body is the direct expression of our imagination, our art and our soul.
