DC: Dragon Boats on the Potomac

Washington, DC – Dragons boats raced on the Potomac River this weekend while battling rain and wind. Hundreds gathered at and near the Thompson Boat Center to watch the 7th annual Washington DC Dragon Boat Festival.

Teams of novices raced in 4 boat heats. Experienced paddlers competed in similar heats. The Potomac was divided into a 250 meter course and a 500 meter course running from the Kennedy Center to the Thompson Boat Center.
