NP Rank:
A 'corpse' woke up in a morgue as doctors were preparing to perform a post-mortem examination on him
Crowd control is poor in India and stampedes are common. Maybe there were many lives could be saved if the procedure of this sort incident was improved by the authorities. Just like the survivor said the victims of stampede were dumped quite haphazardly into trucks without checking whether they were alive or not.
A 'corpse' woke up in a morgue as doctors were preparing to perform a post-mortem examination on him.
The Indian pilgrim, who was knocked unconscious in a stampede that killed 150 people last Sunday, woke up surrounded by rows of dead bodies.Mange Ram, 19, lost consciousness in the stampede triggered by rumours of a landslide that caused panic among thousands of people climbing a steep mountain path, according to media reports.
Ram said he awoke in a hospital morgue after Sunday's tragedy at the Naina Devi shrine in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh.
He said: "When I woke up, I was in the middle of a row of bodies waiting for post-mortem."

Reminds me of a story I read about an old woman who had died in Yugoslavia. There they use open cask coffins. On the way to the funeral the woman suddenly sat up in her coffin and looked around. She then realized she was at her own funeral. She had a heart attack and died, so the family and relatives continued on to the graveyard. (true story)

Thanks for the flag, zichi. And thanks for sharing the true sad story, but it was her destiny to die that way.

I have seen this happening in Niger in 1978 and 1981, masses of dead corpse just piled up ad thrown on a Truck and then put into mass graves! It is not a pretty sight and one of those thing one cannot forget! Still at time this is unavoidable for the climate does not allow for any delay in such matters!
