There are reports of a hand grenades attack in Istanbul. Turkish state news agency reported the incident saying that only one of the grenades went and injured one person.

No further details were available. Three weeks ago, 17 people were killed In Instanbul as two bomb blasts hit a busy commercial neighbourhood.

Several hand grenades have been thrown at a municipal building in Istanbul, according to local reports.

The Dogan news agency says witnesses reported hearing four explosions and at least one person was injured.

It says two men fled the scene on a motorbike. The attack took place in Uskudar on the Asian side of the city.

Last month, double bombings blamed on Kurdish separatists killed 17 people in the city. The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) denied any role in the attacks.
